You Know This - Paperboy

I swear, today I felt like I was a part of the nintendo game Paperboy!
As I was heading out of my apartment complex, a dog came running after my car. Then, as I drove down the street, cars kept pulling out right in front of me. I was just waiting for a lady who resembled Cheryl Marcus to come running out and chase after me!

You Know This - Get Your Fuse On

We are starting up a new venue at Saddleback Church next month!

With Doug Fields teaching live, Taffy and the band providing live worship music, and the service being much shorter, it should be great! I can't wait to check it out...you should too!

You Know This - Threading Hurts

This morning I got my eyebrows threaded. Let me tell you something... from a girl who has gotten a few tattoos, my ears pierced (twice - same hole, just repierced), my cartilage pierced, my belly button pierced, and my eyebrow pierced, I think I can take a bit of pain.  This threading action...it hurts! I mean, all they are doing is pulling groups of your hair out at a time. What makes it that much different from plucking?

So, as I was being torchered (after much regret of not just going to a place that uses wax) I started to think about the epilady. What an awful invention! This contraption is made up of springs that rotate, allowing for the springs to grab your leg hair and yank them out. Again, awful idea!

Thinking about the epilady reminds me of my older sister, Sarah, who once tried it on our ginormous Rhodesian Ridgeback dog. She could have easily bit Sarah's arm off, or at least done a good amount of damage, but all she did was yelp like a little puppy. Poor Blue!

Anyway, all this to say, I do not recommend getting your eyebrows threaded.

You Know This - We're Not Gonna Take It!

My friend David Hughes has one of those blogs that many people check regularly. He is amusing, witty, and has an ability to come up with new and interesting topics on a regular basis.

For over a month now, I have checked his blog on a daily basis to get the latest and greatest D-Hughes update. To my dismay, I have come to the conclusion that he is no longer blogging.

So, as he sat in my office today, we discussed this sad situation. He thinks that he may be over it! But we came up with a plan: I am taking a pole to see how many people are demanding him back. If we get enough positive feedback, there is a good chance that he will get back in the game.

Please, take 20 seconds to refresh your memory of how random and good looking (bonus points David Hughes?) he is by watching the video below, research his blog for a bit, then let me know if you think his efforts should be put back to good use.

You Know This - BS

Earlier this evening, I was walking through the parking lot at On The Border, heading in to meet up with Kim and Liz for dinner. It wasn't quite dark out yet, so I still had on my sunglasses. I walked by a man who stared me down the entire time I was passing him. So I politely smiled and said, "Hi, how are you?" He responded by saying, "I know you are really Britney Spears, but I won't tell anyone."

Really? I don't know who should be more offended... Me or Britney!

You Know This - ChaCha

Have you heard of Cha Cha yet? It's a cool little company set up to where you can send them a text with any question and someone will answer you. And it's usually someone with a pretty good sense of humor responding, such as my friend Alyssa.

For the most part, I have been pretty impressed with the people of Cha Cha, but today was not the case. My roommate Katie is going to be turning 21 this month. For her birthday she wants to go to the turtle racing bar that they went to in an episode of Rob and Big...super fun! Well, I've found a place that has such races, but I am not sure if it is the exact place that they went on the show. So I decided to text Cha Cha. The first response I got was something along the lines of, "Never seen the show." A few hours later I sent the text again, getting a reply along the lines of, "Rob and Big was an American reality television series that followed the lives or professional skateboarder, Rob Dyrdek, and his best friend and body guard, Christopher 'Big Black' Boykin."

Duh Cha Cha! Not the answer I was looking for!

So, if you know the answer for sure, please let me know!

You Know This - Hunter.com

You know how sometimes when you post a comment on MySpace it sends you an advertisement to a dating website? Today one popped up and I swear it looked just like my friend Hunter!

Weird!

You Know This - Scariest Night of my Life

Having grown up in Riverside, I get teased on a pretty regular basis about being ghetto and "bro"ish. There are a lot of stereotypes from Riverside that are true, but for the most part, they are all just embellished by the snobs of Orange County. I'm not trying to knock either side, being that my roots are strong in Riverside but I have adapted easily into the OC lifestyle.

Anyway, all this to say, Riverside has a pretty bad rap here in Orange County. But I would like to point out a few things about the places I have lived...

Riverside (1st 18 years of my life)
* The scariest thing that ever happened was when my mom left the self-cleaning oven on and filled the house with smoke, causing the fire alarm to go off.

Waco, Texas (4 years)
* Natalie thought someone had messed with her laundry while we were upstairs. I searched around the apartment with a butcher knife, but was unable to find the suspect. Turns out, she was drying her shoes and it kicked the door open.

Mission Viejo (Top 5 safest cities in America)
* A man was killed in an apartment fire in the next building over.
* Two people were shot at a party on the other side of the complex.

Foothill Ranch (Sleep-town of South Orange County)
* A big man came to my door around 7pm trying to sell me a subscription to the newspaper. I didn't respond, but instead watched him through the peephole. Apparently he could see my eye cause he started shouting at me through the door.

Rancho Santa Margarita (Also in the top 5 safest cities in America)
* Our neighbor had a house arrest anklet on.
* Another neighbor girl was declared missing after last being seen riding on the back of a man's motorcycle out of our complex. It made the news.

Irvine
* I wasn't home enough for anything super major to happen while living there. But there were constantly people shouting at night and the train passed by several times a night. Also, I'm pretty sure our neighbors were cooking body parts, cause the smells that came through the wall were horrendous!

As of yesterday, I am back in RSM. And last night I had the scariest night of my life. Let me preface by saying that Katie is out of town at high school camp right now, so I am home alone.

My bed is up against a sliding glass door, so last night I decided to sleep with the door open and the screen door locked. At 3:40am I woke up to a man trying to open the screen. I shot up and shouted (in my deepest man-voice), "What's going on?!" Then proceeded to slam the door shut, lock it, and pull the blinds closed. The man then said, "I'm sorry, I thought this was my friend's house." and wandered across the yard and back over the wall. So, I have not slept in 20 hours and am terrified to go to bed right now.

In this moment, I miss the safety of living in Riverside!

You Know This - IDK...My BFF Nat

If you don't already know Natalie and Bryan Davis, you are missing out on some AMAZING friends! I've known Natalie since I was a baby and met BD at Baylor back in 2002. Natalie and I have been best friends for years now. Somehow BD has become my big brother, always looking out for me.

This year they had a beautiful daughter, London. She is such a great baby! I had a chance to go visit them in Orange a few weeks ago, but am just now getting around to posting some pictures. Enjoy...

You Know This - I Heart the Fair!

You Know This - I am Angry!

It is not quite 7am, and I am wide awake! What the heck?! I just spent the last 5 days up at camp getting less than 5 hours of sleep a day and pushing my body to it's physical limits (that part may be a bit exaggerated, but my body is tired too). I spent the 2 weeks before that getting ready for camp, working late hours and coming in super early. Last night, I didn't go to bed until around 1am and watched a movie until around 3am. I had set my alarm for noon, not wanting to waste the entire day away by sleeping in. But for some awful reason, I am up! Boo body! I hate you for adjusting so well!

You Know This - X Games Champ

Sometimes I like to pretend that I am friends with Kyle Loza, even though I've only met him twice. I mean, we do go to the same church and have a few of the same friends, but I don't hang out with him or anything. I once brought him coffee when we were working on the final touches inside the refinery. I also once went into the pit and watched him practice his new jump, "Electric Death". This picture is not one of those times, but it's proof that I have a very distant relationship with him.

Anyway, in case you don't keep up with the X-Games at all, Kyle won the gold medal for best trick in MotoX for the 2nd year in a row!

Kyle, I know we are not friends (yet), but I am still super proud of you!!! Congratulations!
